“ While allowing us to discover a different facet of Adrián Pujol’s work, this show also confirms that his place is among the masters of today’s Venezuelan art, as the selection on exhibit reveals a mastery of technical means is surpassed only by his ability to swathe us in his atmospheres, to make us participants in his world, and to time and again move us with nature’s beauty of and art’s power of metamorphosis. ”

META Miami and Henrique Faría Fine Art are pleased to present NATURA: RECENT WATERCOLORS, Adrián Pujol's first solo exhibition in Miami. The exhibition brings together a set of watercolors on paper and canvas from his latest artistic production, made on the island of Mallorca.

Pujol’s work in visual arts spans more than five decades; he is a Spanish and naturalized Venezuelan citizen born in the City of Palma De Mallorca, Spain. Although Adrián Pujol's extensive career accredits him as an unavoidable reference for contemporary landscape painting in Venezuela, on this occasion, says Ruth Auerbach, "it confronts us with an unprecedented body of work that seems to inhabit the antipodes." his critical thinking."  NATURA: RECENT WATERCOLORS results from a change process; his work is reoriented towards abstract expressiveness. "However, - Auerbach notes - the apparent abandonment of representation and all figurative vestige should not be interpreted as a hasty refusal, since these achromatic fabrics - black and gray - reveal an analytical argument in which another idea of "landscape" underlies... It implies a "revolution," a break from the reasoned exploration of the notion of space, structural layout, and formal development."
