Artist Residency

AVE Doñana II

The Residency

Adrián Pujol in Doñana

The artistic residency of the AVE Doñana program, promoted by META Miami together with the Doñana Biological Station (EBD-CSIC), seeks to unite art and science through the direct immersion of a creator in the Doñana natural reserve. The artist coexists with the ecosystems and dialogues with researchers to generate a work that reflects the richness and fragility of this ecosystem, a natural heritage of humanity.

Following the first edition carried out by Christian Vinck in June 2024, this second residency was led by the painter Adrián Pujol, assisted by Noé Garrido. The first stay, in March 2025, coincided with rainy weather, which conditioned travel and marked the creative experience. A second extension was carried out, starting on April 15, to represent other ecosystems of the reserve.

One of the unique features of this edition was the incorporation of a literary chronicle by Noé Garrido, which accompanies Pujol's work painting outdoors as an artistic testimony of the days spent in the marshland.

The photographs gathered here illustrate this shared experience: painting complemented by writing as a poetic accompaniment, a fruitful alliance between art and science that opens up new inclusive perspectives on Doñana.
