META Miami and Flash Talks cordially invite you to join us for

FLASH TALKS: EDO Sanabria, Un Santo Trotamundo

EDO Sanabria is a Venezuelan-American artist with over thirty years of experience, whose work covers a wide variety of subjects and techniques — from drawing and sculpture to acrylic painting, installations, and urban muralism.

Renowned for his storytelling and cultural chronicles, the experience of migration broadened his worldview and deeply transformed his artistic practice. EDO has boldly “tropicalized” pop art by integrating new languages, formats, and media into his work.

On this occasion, he invites us to explore his creative process through his latest editorial and graphic project: Un Santo Trotamundo.

About EDO Sanabria: Born in Caracas, Venezuela, has devoted more than three decades to exploring multiple artistic languages, evolving from drawing and illustration to contemporary pop art. His career began in 1994 within Venezuela’s leading newspapers, where he established a distinctive visual identity rooted in observation, irony, and color.

In 2008, EDO made a decisive shift toward the visual arts, developing a recognizable style influenced by Warhol, Matisse, and Picasso, distinguished by his fusion of popular culture, humor, and modern aesthetics. Since 2010, his work has reached an international audience, with exhibitions in Seoul, Milan, Tokyo, New York, and Miami. Through techniques such as acrylic encapsulation and dual-perspective sculpture, EDO redefines the boundaries between art, design, and storytelling.

His trajectory has earned him multiple distinctions, including:

  • Latin Grammy Award (2021) – Best Recording Package, from the Latin Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences.

  • Cultural Development and Promotion Award (2019) – Miami International Fine Arts (MIFA).

  • Inclusion in the World Press Cartoon Catalogue (2012) – Sintra, Portugal.

  • Gold Pen Award (2007) – Best Graphic Artist, Ibero-American Art Fair.

Today, EDO Sanabria stands as a voice of Latin American contemporaneity—bridging faith, identity, and collective memory through works that merge artistic rigor with emotional resonance. His creations celebrate the universal power of color, culture, and transformation.

About Flash Talks: Flash Talks is a curated event series that invites creative individuals to share what truly lies behind their work — their inspiration, creative process, and the personal or professional journey that shapes their craft.

Our goal is for the audience to experience more than just a compelling presentation; we want them to walk away with new insights, fresh ideas, and a deeper emotional and intellectual connection to each speaker’s artistic and human story. Whether it’s through visuals, storytelling, or live demonstrations, Flash Talks celebrates creativity in all its forms by shining a light on the “why” behind the work.

We look forward to seeing you there!
